Attendance Calculator
Current Attendance
Your current standing based on input numbers.
Status Outcome
What you need to do to maintain your target.
You can miss the next 5 classes.
Step-by-Step Algebraic Solution
How to Calculate Target Class Attendance (Step-by-Step Guide)
To maintain a specific minimum attendance threshold (e.g. 75% or 80%), use the following formulas to calculate how many consecutive classes you must attend or can safely skip:
- If Below Target: Calculate the consecutive classes required using:
(Target% × Total - Attended) / (1 - Target%). Always round up to the nearest whole class. - If Above Target: Calculate how many classes you can safely skip using:
Attended / Target% - Total. Always round down to the nearest whole class.
Formal Math Formulas
Current Attendance (%) = (Attended / Total) × 100Consecutive Classes to Attend (A) = ⌈(Target × Total - Attended) / (1 - Target)⌉Safe Classes to Skip (S) = ⌊Attended / Target - Total⌋
Pre-Calculated Attendance Threshold Reference Table
Quick-reference worked examples showing status and classes needed/skipable for sample ratios at popular attendance benchmarks.
| Current Ratio (Attended/Total) | Current % | Target % | Status | Required Action |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| 12 / 20 classes | 60.0% | 75% | Short | Attend 12 more classes consecutively |
| 15 / 20 classes | 75.0% | 75% | On Boundary | Cannot miss any classes |
| 18 / 20 classes | 90.0% | 75% | Safe | Can safely miss 4 classes |
| 15 / 25 classes | 60.0% | 80% | Short | Attend 25 more classes consecutively |
| 22 / 25 classes | 88.0% | 80% | Safe | Can safely miss 2 classes |
